Self-care Self-love Self-worth
We always hear how important skincare is but most of you shrug or brush it off until your skin starts telling a story. When your skin doesn’t look healthy it can make you self conscious and embarrassed. This can then lead to us not feeling worthy of in so many aspects of life. Your face is the first thing someone sees when you meet them. Whether you want to believe it or not, it plays an important role in your level of self esteem. I remember vacationing in the tropics with a group of my girlfriends a couple of years back and I packed a bag full of makeup. I packed it and definitely used it not because I didn’t think I was pretty but because I had to put makeup on in order to have that glow. One of my girlfriends would just get up, take a shower, do her skincare routine and hit the road. I secretly admired the time she took for herself. The time to take care of her skin as well as her body. This encouraged me to start making changes. These changes have since made me change my skincare routine, taking time for meditating, exercising, and showing myself the love I needed. This in-turn made my worth skyrocket. My skin began to have a natural glow to it and my scars from pimples began to disappear. I also began to drink plenty of water which in turn also made me slim down a bit. The thing is once you begin changing one part of yourself you start to look at other places that can use adjusting. I wouldn’t change anything about this journey, maybe only that I wish I did it sooner!
